13 Killer Lead Generation Tools That Will Skyrocket Your Conversions

Picture this, you just got home from a long day at work, you're about to relax on the couch with your still warm take-out you picked up from “Pho Palace” when all of the sudden… the phone rings. “Can I speak to Bartolos Colonoscopy?!” The cold caller on the other end asks.

This exact feeling your thinking right now… is why lead generation has evolved. It’s no longer that random pick a calling book spray and pray strategy that was once used. In this post, you’ll finally be able to bury old lead generation techniques with the help of these 13 killer lead generation tools that will skyrocket your conversions.

But first, lets start with defining a lead.

What is a lead?

Leads are prospects that have an interest in your product or service and are in the market to make a purchase. However, many companies still struggle on how to turn these prospects into customers, especially when there is little to no clarity on what they exactly want. This is where lead generation comes into play, lead generation is the process in which you generate these leads, nurture them, and transition them into customers.

Lead generation

Lead generation usually involves multiple lead nurturing steps to help convert a prospect into a paying customer; some of the ways this is done is through the use of content, networking, email marketing, and paid advertising.

As you can see in the diagram below, getting leads is one of the first steps a customer takes on their path to becoming a delighted promoter.

Lead generation process

Lead Generation Process

Now that we understand what leads are and how lead generation works, let's walk through the steps of the lead generation process.

  1. First, a visitor finds your business through one of your marketing channels, such as your website, blog, or social media.
  2. That visitor then clicks a button, better known as a call-to-action (CTA) that encourages visitors to take some kind of action on your website.
  3. That CTA then takes your visitor to a landing page, a page solely designed to capture lead information in exchange for an enticing offer.
  4. Once they reach this stage, they fill their information in a form in exchange for that offer, and just like that, you just landed your first lead

Now this lead has become a marketing qualified lead, does this mean they are ready to buy? Not necessarily. They still have to be nurtured into a sales qualified lead (SQL)

Types of Leads

Prospects - are ‘prospective leads’, they are part of your ideal customer profile that have visited your website, or signed up for your mailing list.

Marketing Qualified Leads - are people who have indicated interest in an offer you put out, signed up for a webinar, or filled out a marketing offer form.

Sales Qualified Leads - are leads that are highly interested in a service or product, you're offering and have specifically requested for a demo or a quote.

Now comes the juicy part, the 13 killer lead generation tools I mentioned.

Lead Generation Tools

1. BombBomb

Allows your sales teams to send prospects and leads tracked personalized videos through email, SMS, and social media. Text is often viewed as blunt, as in-it lacks emotion and tone, leaving your messages ignored. BombBomb solves this by giving you the ability to record personalized videos with built-in video engagement tracking. Which do you think converts better, a confirmation email for a scheduled appointment or a 2 minute welcoming video? … you guessed right.

2. Emercury

Send automated emails only when a lead interacts with your offer (lead magnet), you can create as many lead magnets as you want, with all of them being automated. It also has all the bells and whistles other email software provides, so you hit two birds with one stone.

3. WriteForMe

Tired of hiring freelance content gurus? You can now hire a fully vetted outsourced writing team with WriteForMe. You’ll be able to produce highly engaging content for a fraction of what it costs to hire and vet in-house.

4. Zoominfo

A well-known tool in the world of lead generation, Zoominfo allows you to find buyers within your target market based on buyer intent and website tracking. They also provide other tools to run your marketing operations and hire talent.

5. Callrail

Similar to Zoominfo, but for call, text, and form tracking. You get to map your marketing activities to phone calls, know how they originated, and hence find out which marketing campaigns are most effective.

6. Cleverly

Put in simple words, LinkedIn lead generation on steroids. They will find you prospects based on your target market, develop messages according to what has worked in the past in your industry, write the messages, automate everything, and then notify you when a lead responds and is ready to close! This has honestly been a game changer for me.

7. Apollo.io

Find contact information on almost anyone on the internet. Email addresses, phone numbers, LinkedIn URLs, job titles, website technology, anything that comes to mind, you name it, is available on their platform. They also have a Chrome extension you can install for ease of use.

8. Landbot

A revolutionary no-code chatbot builder. You can build a chatbot with custom logic and conversations.  It also integrates with your website, can be used as a pop-up, on Whatsapp, or Facebook Messenger. Who needs the fill-in-form drama when you can convert leads through real-time conversations built to convert!

9. Justuno

Provides automated offers to your website visitors based on their interests, preferences, and behavior. Imagine visiting a website that shows you personalized offers you’re interested in based on what you're looking for. It does this through advanced targeting and first-party data. It has a few other solutions such as gamification that are also worth looking into.

10. Hello Bar

Show customized bars, modals, alerts, sliders, and pop-ups based on different goals you want your website visitors to achieve. Now, while there are a few other similar products out there, the difference here, is you get to change your message based on your visitors location, date, time, and even the ad campaign they clicked on.

11. Reply

Discover prospects, engage with them over different channels, automate the process and then watch everything fall into place on their reporting dashboard. Basically, lifecycle marketing at its best. They also provide tools to improve your copywriting, suggestions based on prospect activity, A/B testing, among a few other features.

12. Leadfeeder

One of my favorites tools for lead generation. Allows you to see the companies your visitors work at, how they find you and what they’re interested in, then connect with them and send them to your CRM.

13. Outgrow

Last but not least, a set of no-code tools to show different interactive content. Provide your website visitors with calculators, quizzes, assessments, recommendations, polls, chatbots, giveaways, and forms. No coding skills required and all their content is easily embeddable.
